About Stratum
Stratum runs small, live online AI courses for 15-18 year olds, taught by postgraduates experienced in teaching AI at undergraduate level. We run on the belief that AI already shapes daily life, and understanding how it works is now essential knowledge for everyone. To achieve this at secondary school level, our courses stay small — no more than ten students — and each course builds steadily towards a genuine hands-on project, using real data throughout. No coding or maths background is needed.
Our Story
Stratum was founded by Dr Georgina al-Badri in 2026 with the goal of increasing a true understanding of how AI works amongst older teenagers. Georgina has taught the core concepts and applications of AI to over 200 diverse undergraduate students since 2004, with the belief that this conceptual understanding should not be limited to STEM students. Building on this experience and belief, Stratum aims to tackle AI literacy and understanding at an earlier age, giving students a head start in an increasingly AI-driven world.
