FAQ

Who will be teaching the course?

Our tutors are postgraduate researchers with experience teaching AI at undergraduate level, alongside experience tutoring and mentoring high-school-aged students. All tutors are DBS-checked and safeguarding-trained.

How long is the course, and how long is each class?

Each course runs for 10 weeks, with one 1-hour live class per week.

What platform do classes run on?

Live sessions run on Google Meet, with course materials organised and shared through Google Classroom.

Will I still have access to materials after the course finishes?

Yes. Materials stay available through Google Classroom during the course and for a short period afterwards, and everything can be downloaded to keep permanently.

What will I actually learn and build?

Every course starts with a shared foundation covering the core ideas behind AI — how things get represented as data, how similarity and “closeness” work, how a model learns from examples, and how it’s then used to make predictions — taught visually, with minimal maths. From there, students choose one of three hands-on labs:

  • Recommendation Systems Lab — build a working movie recommendation system, and learn how platforms like Spotify and Netflix actually decide what to show you

  • AI Bias Forensics Lab — investigate how bias shows up in AI, from word patterns to real conversations with ChatGPT

  • Decision & Prediction Lab — build a model that predicts which songs are likely to go viral, and learn how to judge whether a prediction is actually any good

Do I need any coding or maths experience?

No. The course has no prerequisites and is designed to be accessible regardless of background — concepts are taught visually rather than through formulas or heavy coding.

How many students are in each class?

Classes are kept small, with up to 10 students per course.

How do I book, and how much does it cost?

Course pricing is available in our Courses page and booking will open shortly. Please register your interest to be notified when booking opens for the January 2027 cohort.
